Marketing & Branding News:

McDonald’s is celebrating its long history of pop culture cameos with a new meal called the “As Featured In” meal. The meal, which is available starting August 14, features a choice of 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Quarter Pounder with Cheese or Big Mac Sandwich paired with medium fries, a Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce and a medium soft drink.

The meal is inspired by some of the most iconic McDonald’s appearances in movies, TV shows and music videos. For example, the 10-piece Chicken McNuggets are a nod to the famous “Seinfeld” episode where Elaine Benes orders a “Big Mac, a large fries, a Coke and a large chocolate shake.” The Quarter Pounder with Cheese is a reference to the “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” scene where Sean Penn’s character orders a “quarter pounder with cheese, no pickles, no onions.” And the Big Mac Sandwich is a nod to the “Friends” episode where Monica Geller orders a “Big Mac, hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special sauce, no onions, extra cheese.”

In addition to the food, the “As Featured In” meal also comes with a collectible tray featuring some of the most famous McDonald’s cameos. The tray includes images from “Seinfeld,” “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” “Friends,” “The Office,” “The Big Lebowski,” “Pulp Fiction” and more.

The “As Featured In” meal is available for a limited time at participating McDonald’s restaurants in the United States.
